Allah Knows the Intentions of Us All
The Prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.H) ﷺ spoke about a man who intended to give charity so he went out for 3 consecutive nights and placed money in the hands of 3 random people. He unknowingly gave it to a woman involved in prostitution, a thief and a wealthy man.
When the people of the city found out about his 'wasteful' charity which ended up in the 'wrong hands' they started to tease him but he kept repeating, 'O Allah, for You, is all praise." He refused to feel disappointed and he refused to believe Allah would let his efforts come to nothing
He then saw a dream where it was said to him, 'Perhaps your charity to the thief stopped him from robbing. Perhaps your charity to the prostitute saved her from falling into haram. Perhaps your charity to the rich man taught him a lesson, made him reflect, and caused him to give in charity from that which Allāh has gifted him."
Moral:
The decree of Allah is perfect and sincere actions never go to waste. Don't mock the actions of any person, judge them, belittle them, or look down on anyone. That person you mocked might be the one who has actually been accepted by Allah.
